Love me logically
60With the convincing victory of logic,
with science and the Industrial Revolution,
we tend to promote logic over reason,
Kant discusses this relationship without definitive comment
(is how I read it anyway).
In love and war it is the same
It’s you or me to win the game
Starting with a threat to you or me
Always only logical that one must always win
Each step pre-set by one upon the one before
Every other pre-judged way founded on a pre-determined sin
And marching onward straight and proven true
Creating all the places I am in
All overlooked along with judgement o’er
And yet, also I could somehow not quite know
That this path that always seems so straight so true
Always also led somehow to where I always wanted so to go
Yet, and also, all around upon the battlefield
Those others that blind logic once de-justified arose
In swarms of ghostly hordes undead
To rattle all their shattered logic chains to pose
The unbid questions of those others logic had unserved
Or that logic dreamed it had all before destroyed, those
Reasoned answers that also I, and also you, deserved
In love and war it is the same
It’s you or me to win the game
Unless we reason that the ending first must be
also you and also me

interesting hub... rated up.
loved it, as usual
Enjoyed this one too
sounds logical to me..... very deep, wonderfully written
People often act as if logic is the answer as opposed to emotions; however, emotions are part of logic. Interesting writing. (: v
what is logic and ho said it is that? I still have not figured out what it really is, no mater how much omeone explains it, sees they they atart to get ost the more tey try to. so really what is logic anyways? something the ytrow at you to kep you in line, doh! or is it hello! LOL love it.. ~aloha~
in love let the heart speak, in war let the mind speak and when there is war in love or love in war you must speak with both the mind and the heart, if you don't, then well, what can one say. in the end only Reason stands a chance. ~aloha~
Valerie, I would disagree. Emotions can fuel irrational thought processes. Logic doesn't apply in those particular circumstances. Logic might say, you cannot afford a certain house. But emotions will lead you to buy it anyway and struggle to pay for it. Emotions may blind you to the ills of a mean boyfriend. Logic would cut through the emotional haze and allow you to see the reality. Emotions may cause one to overreact in a fit of a rage, while logic might allow you to step back and see your own rage as unfounded or misguided.
Just my two cents. :)
Loved it amd I also love the illustration.
you put the 'in' into intellectual.
I must go back to my galaxy by way of Mars and make this report to my people (well they're another name - but I call them 'people' for you) that they have a creative anomaly here at Hub pages and his logic is loveless or something like that but personally I feel he is quite astonishing and gifted as a writer! By the way what is writing? Remember I'M FROM ANOTHER GALAXY - we don't write - we listen!
Interesting poem. My logic took the front seat while reading this.
i like this one. made me think of someone who always thinks logically, where i am more about reason. understanding, an open mind.
Yeah. both/and not either/or. cooperation vs. competition. we vs. us and them. You AND Me, not You OR Me. Thanks Alt.
Floetry man. Let it out. This is particularly groovin'. I suppose you point out just why there always seems to be a yin and yang, good and bad, righteous and evil, or light schwartz over the dark.
logic gets in the way of creativity at times, it is only logical.
Fantastic lines right here.
In swarms of ghostly hordes undeadTo rattle all their shattered logic chains to pose
Logic and emotions definitely are conflictive. I am to logical at times for my own sanity. I have to go for a walk and reset my mind. Great hub. I rate it UP
Alternate Poet,
“In love and war it is the same
It’s you or me to win the game
Starting with a threat to you or me"
I've always found it interesting to compare emotionally-charged relationships to a game. War is about murdering for the state. Love is about caring for someone else.
By that logic, would losing the war equal peace? Would losing love equal apathy?
Thanks for sharing,
Dan
Emotion is her logic and logic is his emotion, pre ordained. Perhaps His way of teaching us, to love the difference in a search that always wants the same. When it finally doesn't matter, we know that love prevailed.
good work. enjoyed this!
